Orange and Blue through and through...Go BSU!

Josh and I went to Boise for parent weekend. It was the first time that we have been to see the campus and where Corey is living...it was great! Corey is in a program to be a RA so he is able to have his own room and has only 4 guys in the bottom floor of his dorm. We were able to tour the campus and see where his classes are and eat in the cafeteria-which actually has really good food. We went to the BSU football game and our last day got to walk on the blue turf...I guess guys think that is really cool:)
Overall it was a great weekend and we had such a great time seeing Corey. He is such an amazing person and is going to accomplish so much! We love you Corey!

random

Here are a few random pics that the kids wanted me to add...
Here is Maddie at the fair climbing a 30 foot rock wall-go Maddie!
My mom went to Texas at the end of the summer to visit my brother. She asked what they wanted her to bring them back and I said anything was good except a cheesy T-shirt...this is what they got-Cowboy boots!
Did you know you could wear boots with anything? Even Batman jammies?

Back to School

School has started again and life is busy! Maddie started 3rd grade and is loving it! She is SO smart and is actually tutoring kids for reading. She loves all of her subjects and excells at reading, spelling, math and science. Maddie is playing soccer, loves to draw and write stories along with going to AWANAS at church.

Jake is now in Pre-Kindergarten. We decided due to his birthday that we would have him stay back one more year. He is LOVING school and after getting in trouble the first few days:) has now learned the rules and is doing great! He loves riding the bus with his sister and going to a big elementry school. He attends M, W and every other Friday-ALL day! To our surprise he is starting to read and learning more each day.

Birthdays

The kids had GREAT birthdays this year! They both had fun ideas of what they wanted to do and they were a blast!
Jacob turned 5 on August 19th and he of course wanted a skateboard party. We rented out the place where he has had lessons before and I thought they would be learning how to skate...I was wrong. I misunderstood and there were no lessons just free skate-so we had 10 boys on skateboards with no idea as to what they were doing...a little CRAZY!

Maddie turned 8 on August 30th. She had a gymnastics party at the YMCA in Puyallup. They have all of the gymnastics equipment you could think of-trampoline, bars, beams, rope swings and tumbling mat. The kids has so much fun that no one wanted to leave!

I can not believe how big they have gotten and what great kids they are. They are bright, funny, loving and both have such great hearts. We are SO lucky! Happy birthday and we love you!!!

saying goodbye...

My good friend Heidi and her family moved back to Utah last week. It was SO sad I already miss her so! Our kids are the same age-Rian 8 and her twin boys Morgan and Dillon 5. We love the time that we got to spend with you and will cherish those memories. We love and miss you!!!

First soccer game

Jake is now playing soccer and having a blast! He plays on a 4/5 year old team in Sumner with 6 kids on his team. They play 3 against 3 with no goalie and are really just trying to learn the rules of the game. At this age they play bunch ball-all players go to wherever the ball is and just try to get a kick at it. Jake did that most of the time but he also spent a lot of time worried about how he looked...if you don't know, Jake is very worried about his apperance. We fight everyday about how many times he changes his clothes, and his clothes have to fit just right-not too big, not too small, short sleeve, long sleeve...wears me out!!! So during the game he would stop to tuck or untuck his shirt, fix his socks, etc. He did really well though for his first game scoring the first goal of the game-FOR THE OTHER TEAM! Oh well, he was very excited and had a lot of fun!

First practice
First game-Go Tigers!
He is #2

Always have to celebrate with a Dilly Bar!!:)

6 Dr. visits and 2 ER visits later...

Luke had a VERY bad reaction to an antibiotic that he was taking called Omnicef. He had taken it twice before and had done fine. This time was different-he had been taking it for about 7 days when he broke out in a hive/rash, but it was only on his ears and neck. It got worse that night and I took him in. They said there was nothing I could really do and to just watch him. He was about the same the next day just a little more grumpy.
Mon morning he woke up and I could barely recognize him! He was swollen about 3 times his normal size and his eyes were almost closed shut. I rushed him to the urgent care and then my allergist and they both said-just an allergic reaction. So I went home and not an hour later his lips and finger nails started to turn blue..so off to the ER we went. We were there for about 3 hours and they still didn't know what to do for him. His breathing was ok and they saw nothing else they could do but watch him. So we went home AGAIN...and then the next morning was worse!
He was even more swollen only now he could not walk and was crying constently. I decided to take him to Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital this time and they finally were able to give me a name-Erythema Multiforme. The reaction had gone into his mucous membranes and his hives were now lesions. He also had a secondary infection called Serum Sickness-swelling into the joints and tissues. This is like having extreme arthritis and is why he was so painful and not walking. We were at the ER for about 5 hours this time but at least I was able to leave with knowing what it was and that he was going to be ok. This was supposed to last for 2-6 weeks(only lasted a week) and there was a potential for things to get worse where the lesions would attack his internal organs and his skin would start falling off resulting in burn like lesions-but I know due to prayer that this was avoided-Praise God! Thank you to all who prayed and helped during this really hard week for us-we love you!!

Go Sounders Go!

So as most of you know we all LOVE soccer in this family-my mom, brother, Josh and I all played when we were young and some of us in HS and college. So to have the Sounders in Seattle is SO much fun! We love going to games and cheering them on. Raegan had a few tickets and Jeff didn't want to go so we took Maddie and Tyler. Maddie has gone with my mom before, but I think having a friend her age was exciting for her. They really got into the game, standing the whole time and cheering them on...and they also got into costume!:)

and since Maddie has the best grandpa ever, he joined in on the fun!
On the bus after the game...You gotta text your peeps and let them know what the score was:) (they really don't have phones)
GO SOUNDERS!

Congrats Corey!!!

Corey is a big boy now!:) hehe just kidding-he has been for awhile. But NOW he has graduated!Josh and I went to Cali for a few days to spend some time with him and see him graduate. His mom threw a wonderful party and we had a blast. He has done such an amazing job with his grades, voluteer work and leadership activities. We could not be more proud of him! Bosie State here he comes!

Luke

Luke is getting SO big! He is talking much more now although still hard to understand. He lOVES animals-but only to look at them. He freaks out if they come anywhere near him. He is a mommas boy and loves to play outside.
He is taking the terrible twos a little too far...definitely our most defiant and hard headed of the 3. I thought the 3rd was supposed to be mellow and easy? Not so much here.
Look like anyone? Oh yes, he has been watching his brother and has decided that he wants to skateboard too!

Luke turned 2 on April 18th. I can't believe that he is 2...it makes me so sad-he is my baby! We only had a family party this year, but he had a great party and a super day!

Here is the birthday boy with his new Sounders shirt-thanks Papa Tony!
Luke LOVES Diego right now so he had a Diego party! We had Diego everything-he even got a Diego bike-he was in heaven!
My mom bought him this Diego outfit-he really looked like a dork but he loved it!
the cake was not as messy this year:)
Luke has decided that he is done with his crib..he climbed out of his crib and would not stay in it-so big boy bed it is. I wasn't really ready for it but didn't really have a choice. It took us 2 hours to get him to sleep the first night but has gotten better every night since.
